Download the emails into Outlook Express. After completing the procedure, click the “Send/Receive” button beside “Create Mail” at the top of the screen. This will download the emails from your account to your Outlook Express inbox. Create a.pst file in Outlook 2003/Office Outlook 2007 format. By default, Outlook creates a.pst file in the latest file format, which supports larger files and Unicode character sets. This file format cannot be read with Microsoft Outlook 97, 98, 2000, or 2002. On the File menu, point to New, and then choose Outlook Data File.

Click-to-Run installations of Office

The following updates apply only to Office clients that are installed by using a .msi file. They do not apply to click-to-run installations of Office. By default, click-to-run installations are automatically updated.

To determine whether you are using a Click-to-run version of Office, click the File tab in Outlook, and then click Office Account. If you see Office Updates under Product Information, as shown in the following figure, you are using a click-to-run installation of Office.

To see the latest version information for click-to-run installations, click Update Options, and then click View Updates.

Outlook 2007

Outlook does not permit the automatic download of pictures in email messages as a security measure to help prevent possible spamming. It does permit images from sites in your Trusted Zone to show but blocks all others. Using the steps in this tutorial, you can override this feature.


Before you begin the steps below, open your Outlook account.

1. Click Tools.

2. Select Trust Center.

3. In the left pane, select Automatic Download.

4. In the right pane, uncheck the Don’t download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail messages or RSS items checkbox.

5. Click OK.

Note: These steps only work for Outlook 2007. For previous versions, you will need to follow the tutorial described here.
